Shear Plate is a key component of cold heading die set. It cooperates with the cut-off punch to shear wire rod into fixed-length blanks before cold forming. It needs high hardness, high wear resistance and good toughness to withstand impact and shearing force. The clearance between shear plate and cutting punch is critical for neat cutting surface of wire.
